Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) kicks off National Opioid and Substance Awareness Day with a virtual town hall event from 12:00–3:00 pm EDT, where participants will learn from experts and from those with lived experience about substance misuse, treatment, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will be able to take free, anonymous, online screenings for themselves or a loved one. For those who screen positive or still have concerns about substance use, there will be referrals to local treatment resources.
National Opioid and Substance Awareness Day is a free event co-hosted by the Brigham Comprehensive Opioid Response and Education (B-CORE) Program and McLean Hospital.
