National Influenza Vaccination Week: December 6-12, 2020

This national awareness week focuses on highlighting the importance of influenza vaccination.

The IPRO QIN-QIO raises awareness about flu risks and encourages everyone to protect themselves and their communities by getting vaccinated—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that during last year’s (2018-19) flu season:

  • 35.5 million people contracted the flu
  • 16.5 million people sought treatment from a health care provider for their illness
  • 490,600 people were hospitalized
  • 34,200 people died
