The IPRO NQICC Invites You to Join the Opioid Stewardship Affinity Group

In the United States, during the time period between 1999 and 2020, more than 263,000 people died from overdoses involving prescription opioids. As many as one in four people receiving prescription opioids in a primary care setting struggles with addiction. Between January 2019 and June 2020, more than 90% of benzodiazepine-involved overdose deaths also involved opioids.

Participate with other hospital clinicians and subject matter experts in conversations focused on how to initiate or expand opioid stewardship programs. Opioid Stewardship Affinity Group meetings will highlight best practices, resources and successful solutions to challenges.

The meeting format will provide participants opportunities to pose questions to subject matter experts (SMEs) who have implemented successful programs. They will discuss data evaluation and outcome measures and provide tips for sustaining a successful program.
