Funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Northeast (Region 1) and Mid-Atlantic (Region 2) CMS QIN-QIOs provide no-cost, expert quality improvement support to nursing homes, hospitals and outpatient clinical providers across a region that includes New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. A collaboration of three organizations with decades of experience working as Medicare QIOs, the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic QIN-QIOs are led by IPRO, working together with Healthcentric Advisors and Qlarant. Our team of experienced quality improvement advisors provides hands-on support across priority areas including:

  • leveraging health information technology
  • reducing readmissions and avoidable emergency department visits
  • improving behavioral health care
  • promoting preventive care
  • enhancing medication safety
  • strengthening emergency preparedness
  • addressing workforce challenges
  • overcoming supply chain concerns
  • boosting cybersecurity

Our Approach

We work with eligible hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient clinical providers to implement data-driven initiatives in support of national health quality goals. We support providers to:

  • Get support applying cutting-edge digital health solutions and using streamlined analytics
  • Learn ways to engage patients and care givers
  • Integrate strategies to sustain positive systemic practice changes

We are physicians, nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, administrators, patients, caregivers, quality improvement, and change experts with extensive experience working collaboratively to improve the quality of health care.
