Description: Providing dementia care education helps encourage alliance with family members. During this session, we discuss educating family members on the trajectory of dementia. We also explain how staff can avoid using antipsychotics as they become more familiar with other expression/behavior prevention strategies, and how to re-introduce Gradual Dose Reduction (GDR) when an initial attempt has not been successful.

• List family concerns regarding GDR of antipsychotic medications
