Description: A hospice and palliative medicine expert will discuss how antipsychotics may be used in terminal delirium for residents dying in the nursing home. In addition, we will discuss the hospice management of end stage dementia and how collaborating with your hospice team can reduce antipsychotic use. In this session, we will:

• Define terminal delirium.
• Describe strategies for managing terminal delirium without antipsychotic medications.
• Identify circumstances when antipsychotic medications can be gradually discontinued in end-stage dementia.
