SUMMARY:Advancing the Culture of Patient Safety: Strategies to Prevent Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAI)
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, January 17\, 2024 from 12 to 1 pm ET\nRegistration is required for this event\n\nHospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are among the most common complications in hospitals and continue to be a significant concern in the healthcare system. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality estimates that approximately 633\,300 patients contract one of these infections annually\, costing billions for healthcare organizations. In this Lunch & Learn we will cover: \n\nThe prevalence of Central line associated blood stream infection (CLABSI) and Catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI).\nThe causative factors and evidence-based strategies for CLABSI and CAUTI prevention.\nHow the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System successfully implemented evidence-based strategies that resulted in a significant decrease in CLABSI and CAUTI rates.
