DESCRIPTION:In the US an estimated 12\,800 people died from Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) in 2017\, and the CDC Threat Report lists the infection as an urgent health issue. Unfortunately\, C. difficile is more common and severe in older people. Inappropriate antibiotic prescribing puts patients at risk for C. diff infections.
