DESCRIPTION:IPRO and the Opioid Response Network (ORN) have developed an education series for use by nursing home staff educators. Our goal is to provide a resource to nursing homes/medical rehabilitation centers that supports your commitment to ensure all residents/patients receive equitable care. As many as one in four people receiving prescription opioids in a primary care setting struggles with addiction. Between January 2019 and June 2020\, more than 90% of benzodiazepine-involved overdose deaths also involved opioids. \nParticipate with other hospital clinicians and subject matter experts in conversations focused on how to initiate or expand opioid stewardship programs. Opioid Stewardship Affinity Group meetings will highlight best practices\, resources and successful solutions to challenges. \nThe meeting format will provide participants opportunities to pose questions to subject matter experts (SMEs) who have implemented successful programs.
